« Seasoning » (the Maillard Reaction) is a natural, healthy process that allows you to protect the plate, making it an anti-stick surface. For this, before its first use, clean the plancha with white vinegar. When clean and hot, apply shortening or food grease over the entire surface. Once it is well greased, a brown spot will develop. Your plancha is now « seasoned » and ready for use.
